I would like to know when exactly anime branched into the modern paint style used by various anime artists such as “Mayuko.com” (まゆこ.com or 鎧.com). Whenever it did, Mayuko.com is definitely one of the most brilliant of the genre.
Her color schemes are genius. Her extreme usage of patterns and repetition somehow works (really well). And her character design/world/aesthetic is very original. I personally can’t get enough of her work — every image sparks my curiosity, along with my imagination, and no two do in the same way. As one of my favorite artists, I hope you enjoy Mayuko.com
For Mayuko.com’s Pixiv: http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=16350
And for her site: http://readd148.kachoufuugetu.net/index2.html
UPDATED (thanks to Cloesy) For her dA: http://mayucom.deviantart.com/
Note: As you may notice, the last image is something new. I thought it would be useful — I call it a “Credit Tag”. Feedback on it is welcome!

“Reef Collaboration”
“I worked on a client project with Reef about six months ago that I got the okay to go ahead and share. We did a couple illustrations for some summer clothing. What a great company to work with, they really gave me the freedom to take the illustrations in a direction I could get excited about. “
